Guy Pieters was born in the artistic village of Sint-Martens-Latem, the cradle of Flemish expressionism. After making the acquaintance of the French-American artist Arman in 1979, he shifted his focus towards post-war and contemporary art, and opened his first gallery in 1981.
In the next 40 years he set up several art galleries with his wife Linda at his side. Pieters’ success is mainly due to his lifelong collaborations with artists. Showcasing the masters of New Realism and Pop Art alongside future talents, Guy Pieters Gallery has gained a reputation far beyond its native Belgium.
In his seaside galleries in Knokke, he presents established works of art and organizes magnificent solo exhibitions of renowned artists such as Karel Appel,
