Galerie Lelong was originally founded by Aimé Maeght in 1945, presenting modernist icons such as Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Alberto Giacometti, Antoni Tàpies, Francis Bacon, and Eduardo Chillida. After Maeght’s death in 1981, the gallery restructured under Jacques Dupin, Daniel Lelong, and Jean Frémon. Since then, it has represented major artists across generations and continents, including Louise Bourgeois, Jaume Plensa, and Kiki Smith. It produces public sculptures and has published over 200 catalogues. In Paris, a space is dedicated to prints, and a new venue on avenue Matignon opened in 2018, expanded in 2024.
