Climate Education Through the Art of Storytelling

Saturday 25 April
11:30 – 12:30 PM at the Tribune

Presented by Fleur Rossdale on behalf of the Fleur Rossdale Foundation (FRF) with Aglaia Ponomareva and moderated by Brooke K. Peterson

Presented by Fleur Rossdale on behalf of the Fleur Rossdale Foundation (FRF), her talk explores how storytelling, art, and music can serve as powerful tools for climate education and action. FRF works across education, culture, and the arts to create meaningful dialogue between schools, artists, industry, and the private sector. From developing sanctuaries that protect biodiversity to supporting climate education projects like the Green Guardians programme at the International School of Brussels (ISB), FRF focuses on turning creativity into impact. This talk will highlight current initiatives, upcoming projects, and the urgent need for funding to sustain and grow these spaces for future generations.

Fleur Rossdale
Fleur Rossdale studied Art History in Florence and Paris before beginning her career at Sotheby’s Bond Street and later running an art gallery in St James’s, London. She became a leading figure in the London design world through a series of influential curated exhibitions at Chelsea Old Town Hall in the 1980s and 1990s. There, she introduced the concept of rooms en filade, bringing together leading names in design, architecture, and art in immersive interior environments. Her exhibitions were described as the haute couture of interior design, featuring contributors such as Elizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti and Vivienne Westwood.
Today, she is the founder of the Fleur Rossdale Foundation and the Direct Climate Cooling Initiative, focusing on environmental education and the protection of ecosystems through creative and scientific projects.

Aglaia Ponomareva
Aglaia Ponomareva is an art advisor, curator, and cultural project leader with over a decade of experience connecting art, education, and public engagement. She studied Fine Art at the University of Tennessee and brings a global, cross-cultural perspective shaped by her upbringing in Africa and extensive travels. Currently, she collaborates with the Fleur Rossdale Foundation on the DCCI project, developing creative programs focused on climate awareness in schools. After starting her career as an art director in leading advertising firms, she transitioned into the contemporary art world, curating exhibitions and founding initiatives such as SHINE. In 2023, she launched PONART CONSULTING, specialising in integrating art into hospitality and commercial spaces while promoting art as a tool for social impact.

Brooke K. Peterson

In 2004, she founded Convene Inc. in Boston, a marketing firm dedicated to supporting educational and mission-driven organizations through strategic communication and storytelling. More recently, she launched Contentli.co, a spin-off venture dedicated to helping small organizations clarify their message, connect with their audiences, and expand their impact through engaging, technology-driven, audience-focused content and campaigns that support meaningful social change.
Brooke is currently supporting the Fleur Rossdale Foundation on the DCCI project by developing meaningful, audience-focused content that advances its mission to promote climate awareness through school-based cooling initiatives.
