This spring, CC Strombeek presents Concrete Sweethearts, the first institutional solo exhibition in Belgium by Sarah Caillard. Her practice—spanning sculpture, drawing, video, and installation—explores invisible transmissions, those that circulate across generations, images, and screens, and continue to shape our imagination. Concrete Sweethearts reflects on the impact of the gaze of the other and explores themes such as intimacy, memory, and identity, playing with the tension between reality and fiction. At the heart of the exhibition lies the figure of Medusa; not as a monster, but as a mortal young woman whose image and gaze have been distorted, frozen, and instrumentalized through myth.
